News and notes …

I attended a premier for a new film, Legends of Aviation 3D, if you are interested my impression of it was published yesterday

Interesting news in the area of historic aircraft recovery:

  • The B-17 that had made a forced landing in New Guinea during WW II has been recovered and is in shipment to the USA for restoration. That would make at least three B-17s undergoing restoration in total with the others being at the National Air Force Museum and another in Washington state.
  • An SB2C Helldiver is being recovered from a reservoir near San Jose CA decades after it made a forced landing. It will be restored if the permit applications can be sorted to approve the project.
