Aviation Stamps from the Congo

— Giel Sweertvaegher photo

A. Franca is the artist for many of these aviation themed stamps — Giel Sweertvaegher photo

Giel Sweertvaegher and Bob Vellemen are the people behind the Apron 6 blog which is about the joy of aviation as these two experience and share with us. Apron 6 is populated with excellent original photos and inspired bits of prose. Recently, Giel emailed photos he shot of stamps he owns, and displays for their aviation related art, for this post. These stamps are from the Congo (known now as the Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Giel’s research identifying the aircraft is also especially appreciated, along with the quality of the images.
