This Schweizer SGS 1-26C sailplane is one of the better examples with regard to the use of shark’s mouth nose art. Although not done first by the American Volunteer Group Flying Tigers the shark mouth art perhaps never looked better than on the Curtiss P-40 (Warhawk, Tomahawk and Kittyhawk) — though it is nearly as striking when on an F-8 Crusader or Firebee drone.
