This museum is happily now open to the public — by appointment due to a small but enthusiastic and cooperative staff — simply go to Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum for information to arrange a convenient and enlightening visit. A hint: posts about the museum while being built, its exhibits and founder Allan McElhiney have been published (use the search window to easily get to them). The museum is close to the Ft.Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and adjacent to the viewing area for the airport making it a great trip for children as well as while on an airport layover.
