Saro developed the Cloud to serve the, first as the A.19 for patrolling then, second, as the A.29 for pilot and navigator training (the eight seat passenger compartment could be converted to six trainee navigator stations). Designed with a high wing which had engines mounted on pylons above the wing the Cloud served for almost a decade training pilots as well as navigators during the 1930s for the coming war.
