Westland built three prototypes of the Yeovil but ultimately failed to gain a contract with the Royal Air Force. It had the conventional design of the day with two wings and two open cockpit bays for the pilot and gunner/observer. Yeovils were powered by a single 650 hp/485kW Rolls-Royce Condor liquid cooled in-line reciprocating engine which could propel the Yeovil to speeds of 120 mph/193kph.
