    I collect ‘antique’ toy airplanes and have a mint condition blue & red plastic version of this…..(I think!)..its definitely NOT the C-119 because it opens in the front…but not sure how the Packet opens for cargo! 🙂

      Hi Dave,

      The packet has clam shell doors at the fuselage rear — if you’re talking of the actual airplane. One swings left and the other goes to the right.

    Thanks for this two-part walk-around, Joe. I have always admired the Packet; a very pleasing design, the P-38 of freighters!
