This is the heavily modified Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina version called the Super Cat—the description as well as other, including interior, photos can be seen here. It has been in repose outside the Wings Over Miami Air Museum for several years awaiting legal issues to be resolved. It is good to occasionally see her and walk around her in such intimate proximity, nonetheless.

    If I were a rich boy I’d buy it!! Thanks for the link to additional photos. I haven’t found much on specs, there are many PBY 5 derivatives!

      What a great aircraft for traveling. Look up the Super Cat to get to a post I wrote which has specs in it as well as the reference to the article I found on it. I think this specific aircraft is unique.
