Seen recently flying over South Beach (SoBe) and Government Cut in Miami this blimp was mesmerizing. Seemingly effortless in flight, watching the pilot trim the aircraft by moving ballast and seeing the ship turn in only a few of its lengths it is no wonder it is one of the best aerial platforms for observation tasks—scouts know that one can see more of an area by sitting against a tree for an hour than by walking for a day.

    Smashing blimp shots, Joe!

By the way, I understand South Beach is going to get its own IT department next year……it is going to be named SoBeIT ! (I could NOT resist that!)

In the mid 1980s, I owned a business on the Sonoma County Airport (California) and was fortunate enough to be offered a ride in the Goodyear blimp. It was an experience I will always treasure.

It looks like an excellent way to fly 🙂
