Is there a more iconic image of carrier aviation than this image?

There are many historical images, some heroic, some tragic, but that is a beautifully composed photograph, caught at the exact right moment in time.

However, for me, my favorite carrier image is captured in a print hanging on my wall. It is the Doolittle raid, the painting showing Jimmy Doolittle in the lead B-25 taking off and climbing away from the USS Hornet.

Doolittle autographed my print, in pencil. Pencil will never fade as ink tends to do.

There is just no substitute for timing and location when shooting a photo, is there? Remarkable photo you have!
